Agents

Agents define how calls behave. An agent combines prompt instructions, voice, speech-to-text, tools, knowledge base access, retry settings, phone configuration, and webhook delivery.

What agents control

  • Opening message and conversation behavior
  • Voice and language settings
  • Call parameters and dynamic variables
  • Tools and external actions
  • Knowledge base retrieval
  • Output/results schema
  • Retry behavior for busy, no-answer, and failed attempts
  • Webhook targets for call events

Agent IDs

Most API calls require an agent_id. You can find it in the dashboard on the Agents page or the agent detail page.
